Challenge
The brief for this job was to provide extra hard standing for car parking.
The property is an Arts and Crafts house and the clients were keen that the landscaping was in keeping with the beautiful and ornate property.
Solution
We had to lay very substantial footings and drainage before the granite setts could be laid – each one by my own fair hand (!) – in a random pattern which was not so easy as I only had 2 sizes of setts to use.
The tree is Acer palmatum Sango kaku which has place green leaves which turn in the autumn to shades of yellow and orange. The stems through the winter are a brilliant red.
